Mid-Year Check In: 2025

We are halfway through the year and I thought it was a great time to check in with how things are here at VICKI MALONE. 

Honestly, it hasn't been an easy year so far - I am still trying to find my way as a mother and as a business owner. I don't believe we should have to choose between the two so I will continue to find a balance that works. 

Whenever I think about whether I am doing the right thing or if this is the right direction to go, I am reminded of my purpose. Showcasing the work of the past, using it to create modern garments and preserving those techniques for the future. Although it may often seem like a challenge, it is one I am willing to face and learn from. Combing through my fabric library, visiting flea markets and museums sparks a new motivation to continue. There are so many stories that still need to be shared and I am here to help them be told. 

Summer is finally here in Berlin and we are having some of that sweet weather where I am wearing my VICKI MALONE pieces on repeat, I do hope you are doing the same. Speaking of VICKI MALONE pieces there will be a new drop launching on the website at the end of June, with archive pieces exclusively available on Instagram on 29th June as part of the A Virtual Vintage Market, (follow @byvickimalone and @avirtualvintagemarket). It will be the first time in a long time since I have traded with Georgie and Emily, as well as the other fabulous vintage and sustainable businesses. These girls know how to host and curate the best in fashion and it will be a great market I am sure. This next drop will see a new development in how I work and hopefully it will be received with the same level of excitement that I have had making it. Inspired by my love for the Italian city of Naples, this latest drop will be perfect for taking you from beach to aperitvo effortlessly. Think espresso e cornetto, spritz e taralle, birra e pizza, you and VICKI MALONE.

I look forward to the next half of the year, who knows what it will bring but I enter it with an open mind and heart and wish for you to do the same.
