Some pieces have a life before they become yours.
This vest began as a vintage lace tablecloth sourced in Italy — the kind of piece made with genuine patience and skill, every detail considered. It travelled from Italy to a small studio in east Berlin where it was cut and sewn by hand into this one-of-a-kind vest.
Where the other VEM Vests wear their history in fringe and trim, this one lets the lace speak entirely for itself. The fabric is the detail — intricate, beautiful and completely unrepeatable. A button and loop front gives it a slightly more structured, considered feel while keeping the silhouette relaxed and boxy.
Wear it over a simple white shirt and wide-leg trousers for an effortlessly elegant look. Layer it over a slip dress for an evening out. Style it with tailored shorts and loafers for a look that feels both relaxed and put together.
Because it is made from a single rescued lace tablecloth, only one exists. When it's gone, it's gone.
